Lawyer's compensation
In order to establish a relationship of trust with my clients, I always set my fees in agreement with them and on a case-by-case basis, that is to say according to their budget and the seriousness of their case. In general, the remuneration of your lawyer in Marseille is made up not only of fees, but also of legal costs and other disbursements incurred by the firm.
Depending on the nature of your file, you can opt for an hourly or flat-rate billing method. Either way, fee schedules are set based on a few factors, namely:
- The notoriety and experience of the lawyerThe specialization of the lawyers involved (if necessary)The nature and complexity of the caseThe expected resultThe speed of the interventionThe financial possibilities of the client
In addition, I am also required to inform you of the VAT rate applicable to your file, as well as the status of fees according to the progress of the file. A written agreement mentioning the method of invoicing and the amount of the fees must be signed to avoid possible complaints.
Fee calculation
Three fee agreements are possible depending on your budget and the needs of your file.
Dispute over fees
In some cases, it happens that a customer considers his billing to be excessive. The lawyer may even ask for compensation for due diligence not carried out in the context of the case. In this case, a dispute will arise between the two parties. The solution to resolve this conflict quickly is to request additional explanations from the lawyer in charge. In general, the discussion succeeds in clarifying the situation and resolving the dispute. But if the latter persists, the client will have to contest the fees.
His request must be sent by registered mail with acknowledgment of receipt to the President of the Bar. The council of the order will then set up an arbitrary mediation intended to decide on the question.
